Purpose
At FBC we have as our primary purpose is to help people mature so they can impact their world for Christ. We believe that this is best reached by focusing upon the following five areas.
Worship:
We worship
God for who
He is and
what He
has done.
Through worship, FBC seeks to empower believers to celebrate God's word and to tell others about it. If true worship has taken place, believers will leave this celebration knowing, without a doubt, who is in charge of the universe, the world and their individual lives. For nonbelievers, FBC hopes to instruct and challenge those people who are considering the claims of Jesus Christ.
Fellowship:
We care
for each other
as a family
of believers.
In John 13:34-35 Christ commands us to love one another as Christ has loved us. As we go out to make disciples, the message is Christ and the medium is love. At FBC, our goal is to create an environment of mutual respect, concern and care for the people in our church family and for the community around us. To this end, we want to involve everyone who is willing in a caring, loving and serving small group study where this environment of awareness and sensitivity is able to flourish.
Discipleship:
We encourage
and teach
one another
toward
maturing in
Christ.
Cultivating personal growth and service by understanding God's love and His purpose for us is a priority at FBC. We are committed to providing opportunities for spiritual growth so that believers will understand their own personal responsibility to answer God's calling and to serve as Christ commands us to. Opportunities for spiritual growth and service are offered through educational instruction, small group ministry, one-on-one discipleship program, and other specialized opportunities that occur throughout the year.
Ministry:
We serve
one another
because of
Christ's love.
At FBC we believe that God expects us to use the gifts, talents, and opportunities he gives us to benefit others. God intends for every believer to have a ministry (1 Peter 4.10). We seek to provide the necessary training as well as opportunities for every one who wishes to serve to be able to serve.
Outreach:
We communicate
Christ's love
to our world.
We are committed to helping believers proclaim the message of Christ to the world on a local, national and international level. As Christians, we must be able to share our faith, and through this meet the needs of the people. Locally, we must be serious about the many thousands of people who do not know Christ. Nationally and internationally, we have a very active Missions Committee that endeavors to promote and encourage our body in missions awareness and involvement.
